Substance Abuse Policy

VINSUM India prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages, and drug abuse during the performance of work duties regardless of rank or position, including both regular/full time, probationary and temporary employees. The rules apply during working hours to all employees while they are on the Company's premises or elsewhere on official business.

 Every VINSUM India employee is expected to come to work in the appropriate mental and physical condition for work, and not under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol. Each one must adhere to the following policy requirements:

The manufacture, distribution, transfer, possession, sale, or purchase of controlled substances of abuse including narcotics, depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, marijuana or other unauthorized drugs or be under the influence of alcohol while working or operating a company vehicle is strictly prohibited.

Employee should not have alcoholic beverages during workday meals when you intend to return to work.

Employees who are operating company owned vehicles must not be under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Any use of alcohol at company-sponsored events must be conducted in a responsible, professional manner with appropriate regard for individual and safety.

As smoking is a potential health hazard for the smoker as well as the others around, no employee shall be permitted to smoke in the office premises other than in designated areas.

If there is reasonable cause to suspect that the employee does not comply with this requirement, employee may be required to participate in a drug and/or alcohol test; this testing may include breath, urine or blood chemical screens for the detection of alcohol or drugs.

If an employee is involved in a work-related accident or incident that results in injury to self or others, or PROPERTY damage, employee may be required to participate in a drug and/or alcohol test. The drug and alcohol testing guidelines will be applicable in such situations. In case any of the above policy guidelines is violated, employee will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of service from VINSUM India.
